Press Release: Peak Education to Celebrate Grand Opening of College  & Career Readiness  Center with Mayor Yemi and Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC

Colorado Springs, CO – May 29, 2025 

 

Colorado Springs, CO — May 29, 2025— Peak Education, a leading nonprofit organization advancing educational and career outcomes for youth in the Pikes Peak Region, is thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of its new College & Career Readiness Center on Tuesday, June 4, 2025 at 117 S Wahsatch Ave in downtown Colorado Springs. 


The celebration will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC and remarks from Mayor Yemi Mobolade, highlighting the city’s commitment to youth, education, and workforce development. 

“This new space is not just a home for Peak Education—it’s a hub for dreams, growth, and future careers,” said Carlos Jimenez, Executive Director of Peak Education. “We are proud to welcome the community into a space designed to launch the next generation of Colorado Springs leaders.” 

Event Details:  📅 Date: Tuesday, June 4, 2025  🕓 Time: 4:40–7:00 PM  📍 Location: 117 S. Wahsatch Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903  🎀 Ribbon Cutting: Begins promptly at 5:40pm-6:00pm Hosted by the Colorado Springs Chamber & EDC  🎤 Special Guests: Mayor Yemi Mobolade and other local leaders  🥂 Reception to follow with light refreshments 

Guests will have the opportunity to: 

  • Tour the new facility 

  • Engage with Peak Education scholars and mentors 

  • Participate in interactive college & career readiness stations 

  • Learn how Peak Education is helping close the opportunity gap for students across the region 


This Center expands Peak Education’s ability to provide essential programming—from financial aid workshops and career mentorship to college readiness training and service-learning—for hundreds of students and professionals each year. 

In a region where only 17% of low-income students earn a credential or degree beyond high school, despite 76% of jobs requiring one, this new Center is a critical investment in the future workforce of Colorado Springs
