Privacy Policy for Peak Education Student2Student "(Application)
" This Privacy Policy explains the following:
i) How Peak Education ("Peak Ed", "we", "our" or "us") may process, collect, use and/or store information about your use of a prototype iOS/Web application known as Peak Education Student2Student "Application". This Privacy Policy applies to the information collected during the course of the pilot program for the Application.
ii) How you can contact us.
This Privacy Policy is in addition to any other privacy policy that may apply to your interactions with any Peak Education affiliate, subsidiary, product, software or service.
1. About the Application
This Application allows users to find remote host users who can instantly share their presence at their remote location as well as having live conversations. It is intended for use by students when considering applying to college/university so that they can experience life on campus. This Application is not intended for and should not be used by anyone under the age of 16.
2. What information is obtained about you?
When you download and use the Application, Peak Education may collect certain information directly from you or automatically from the Application, including the following. If you wish to stop data collection, you should cease using the Application.
Information you provide:
* User profile information that you share or provide to us e.g., name, email address, date of birth, profile information or photo.
Information that is collected automatically:
Information about your specific geographic location.
The software version on the Application.
Information about the smartphone device (e.g. iPhone type, iOS version).
Information about usage (e.g. date, time and length the Application is launched)
3. How does Peak Education use your information?
Peak Education may collect, store, use and/or analyze the information referred to in Section 2 for the following purposes:
* To improve our technologies, products and services.
* To provide you with the features and functionality of the Application, manage your account and to provide updated features of the Application.
* To develop new technologies, products and services.
4. Who else has access to your information?
Your information that is collected and stored by Peak Education may be made available to other third parties, as follows:
i) Other service providers
We may also share information with other third party service providers, such as data hosting vendors.
ii) Business transfer
In the event that we sell or transfer a portion or all of our business, your information may be transferred by us to the purchasing or acquiring entity as part of the transaction.
iii) Compliance and enforcement
We may retain, use and/or disclose any of your information as required or permitted by law, regulation or order, including to the police or other appropriate authorities, to investigate complaints made by or against you, or to protect or defend ourselves, or others, against illegal, criminal or harmful activities.
5. Data Retention, Managing Your Information
We will retain the information described in Section 2 for as long as it is needed to provide you with the features and functions of the Application and the related services, and for a reasonable time thereafter to the extent permitted or required by applicable law. Please note that if you uninstall the Application, Peak Education may still retain some or all of the information collected while you used the Application.
6. Transfer of your information internationally
Your information may be processed, stored and transferred for the purposes outlined in Sections 3 and 4 to countries outside your country of residence. Your information may be processed by staff operating outside your country of residence who work for us or for one of our service providers and may be seen by such staff in those countries.
7. Security
Peak Education undertakes reasonable security measures designed to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of your information. Although we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us through the Application, that we transmit to third parties and business partners, that we store on our systems or that is stored on our third party service providers' systems.
8. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy within the Application. You are advised to consult the posted Privacy Policy regularly for any changes.

10. California Privacy Notice
If you reside in California, we are required to provide additional information to you about how we collect, use and disclose your information, and you may have additional rights with regard to how we use your information. We have included this California-specific information below.
CA Personal Information. Consistent with this Privacy Policy, for California residents, we may collect the following categories of information from you, the Application or your device ("CA Personal Information") for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, specifically:
Personal Identifiers: such as name and email address;
Other Identifiers: such as IP address, device identifiers or other unique identifiers;
Commercial Information: such as product types or applications purchased or obtained, transaction information or similar information;
Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity: such as operating system, screen views, traffic to and from applications, other standard connectivity information;
Geolocation Data: such as physical location information through the use of the Application;
Other Consumer Characteristics: such as demographic information, user profile or age.
CA Personal Information Disclosed for Business Purposes.
Sharing your CA Personal Information for Business Purposes: In the preceding twelve months, we may have shared the following categories of CA Personal Information for business purposes: Identifiers, Commercial Information, Internet or Other Electronic Activity and Usage Information. This information may be shared for the purpose of providing services to you, for legal compliance, or to protect legitimate interests, in compliance with law.
Sale of CA Personal Information: In the preceding twelve months, we have not sold (as defined under CCPA) CA Personal Information
California Consumer Rights. Subject to certain exceptions, as a California resident, you may have the following rights to your CA Personal Information: (i) Access. Request access to your CA Personal Information that we collect, use, or disclose; (ii) Deletion. Request deletion of your CA Personal Information; provided that we may be required to retain some of your CA Personal Information, as permitted by applicable law; and (iii) CA Personal Information Disclosed For Business Purposes. Request information about the CA Personal Information we have disclosed for business purposes within the preceding 12 months.
Exercising Your Rights. If you are a California resident and wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us by: (a) sending an email to connect@peakedu.org with the specific nature of your request, referencing “Your California Privacy Rights – Peak Education”; or (b) calling the following toll-free number 1-719-389-1249. When submitting your request, you must include your first and last name, email address, and zip code or mailing address. You may be asked to provide additional proof of identification so that we can verify your identity and validate the request. You are limited by law in the number of requests you may submit per year. If you have an authorized agent submitting a request on your behalf, additional verification of identity and authorization will be required.
