Magic of Two Honoree
                  Mary Lou Murphy

All of her life, Mary Lou Murphy nurtured, supported, mentored and inspired those around her. Therefore; it was no surprise when Mary Lou entered Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, Colorado. She graduated in September 1956 as an R.N.

Two months later, Mary Lou met the love of her life, Chuck Murphy, of whom she has been married for 53 years. Together they raised their five children and have lived in Colorado Springs for over 40 years.

During these years they owned and operated the Garden of Gods Campground where they eagerly welcomed visitors from all over the world.

Mary Lou and Chuck have nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom they love and cherish.

Mary Lou’s love of children led her to become a board member, supporter and mentor of Peak Education. When asked what Mary Lou likes most about Peak Education she quotes “Mr. Rogers” – “In every neighborhood, all across the country, there are good people insisting on a good start for the young and doing something about it”.
